A funky dance groove that kicks harder than Bruce Lee in a bad mood, meshed with an anthemic slice of joyous, Philly flavored soul could only come from one man, Randy Muller. The song in question is “Beautiful Feelin’” featuring Carolyn Harding. It’s Muller’s new single and the perfect musical tonic for these troubled times.

Randy, the evergreen groove meister, has been the invisible hand to the soundtrack to our lives. Artists such as Skyy, BT Express, First Circle, and Raphael Cameron as well as his own band, Brass Construction, all enjoyed their biggest hits with Randy at the helm, either writing, arranging, producing and often playing as well. More recently he has enjoyed success dabbling in jazz, house music and vintage soul/funk courtesy of his last project, Soul Biscuits, which enjoyed extensive global radio play.

On “Beautiful Feelin’” Randy is keeping good company. With a menu of mixes by both the man himself and renowned UK producer/mixer Nigel Lowis, the two doff their hats to the past without ever wallowing in nostalgia or feeling dated. This is a song born for today but influenced by yesterday.

“I wanted to write a song that would express the optimism, hopes and dreams of everyday folk,” says Randy. “As we face these politically tumultuous times rife with race, religious and ethnic divisions, I think, most folk are struggling for pretty much the same things: basic security of a safe place to live, a job with fair wages, food, and for their kids to do better than they have. We all have much more in common than the differences many of our leaders tend to prey on, so this record is about that. It’s a celebration of the possible with a deliciously soulful twist. A timeless cry for unity and coming together.”
